RACE CANCELLED
Quick info: Socially-distanced
cyclocross racing. $30 per day. Sunday April 11th and 18th, MN State
Fairgrounds. Park in the north lot off Hoyt Avenue. Six categories - Beginner,
Intermediate, and Advanced men, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced women. Put
yourself in the category you’re comfortable in. Register online at bikereg.com.
Pre-registration only, no day-of registration. No USA Cycling racing
license required.
Timetrial format: Riders will start at
one minute intervals. Two laps of the longest cyclocross course you’ve ever
ridden, unless you were at Jingle Cross the year the cat 5 race was two laps,
then samesies. We’ve been given permission to use a huge chunk of the
fairgrounds for the event, so we’ll have some widely varied terrain. Count on
the hillside behind the Grandstand and as many cool Fairgrounds attractions as
we can string together. Sorry, no Miracle of Birth unless things get really
sideways on us.
Pre-registration only! There will be no on-site
registration so that we can more easily maintain COVID safety protocols and
minimize the amount of time you spend on-site. We’ll seed riders at one minute
intervals and will email a start list with times the Friday before the race.
Riders will be seeded in order of registration, so if you want to go early,
sign up NOW. If you want to go late, sign up closer to the deadline. Start
times will begin at 11am and may run all the way to 4:00pm, as we’re allotting
300 start times. If it sells out, it sells out. We’re not adding additional start
times. Click Here to Register
Mountain and gravel bikes are okay! Yeah, a CX-specific bike is probably best, but you’ll get by just
fine on a gravel bike, MTB, or fat bike. The course will be a mix of gravel,
pavement, grass, and whatever else we can find to make you ride or run over.
You can expect a dismount or two per lap unless you can seriously send it.
We’ll try to add a Hero Barrier or two that most folks will be able to hop if
they commit to it, but we’ll also have Endurance Promotions’ blue walls out
there somewhere.
Race day info: Masks are required
anytime you’re not racing. Please do not arrive more than an hour before your
start time, and do not plan to mix and mingle unless you’re maintaining safe
social distancing. There
will be no pre-riding allowed on course, so have your warm up plan figured out.
Park in the north parking lot on Hoyt Avenue. Come through the open gate to the
registration table, where a volunteer will point you toward your timing chip
and bib number. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE START CHUTE MORE THAN FIVE
MINUTES BEFORE YOUR START TIME. Single file only in the chute, with at least
six feet between riders. You must wear a mask when checking in and while in the
chute. Once the rider in front of you starts, you may remove your mask. Put it
back on once you’re done with your race and have finished questioning every
training decision you’ve made since March of last year. Results will be posted at endurancepromotions.com
after the race wraps up, so please don’t hang around afterwards waiting for them
since we will not post them at the race.
Distancing will be enforced via Super Soaker. Its contents will be
shockingly cold. You have been warned.
